"Real Women Have Curves"
Unless "curves" is some new word for "no Y chromosome," this phrase is just so wrong. And even if it did mean that, it would be debatable.
I'm so sick of skinny-bashing.
The phrase came into popularity to counteract the societal fixation with being ultra-thin (which I think is way more present in the media than in real life), but has led to more negativity than positivity. If a woman is very thin either by nature or, unfortunately, an eating disorder, telling her she is "not a real woman" is probably one of the most spiteful and damaging messages you could send.
