Why do people keep saying this? Based on how constant these statements have been, it sounds like more than commending a "good company" for "good service" and "good food."

It sounds like the common practice of an attempt at a dichotomy between the politeness of "those God-fearing folks who just wanted to use their First Amendment rights...leave us alone" versus the rudeness of "those other folks."

People are always picking on the polite God-fearing folks. The silent warriors. God has a blessing coming through for them.

Because we all know if the liberals were lined up at the KFC for a boycott Chik-Fil-A day, the whole city would have burned down.

I have nothing against stores that are closed on Sundays. I appreciate that and all of my life I have patronized stores that are closed on Sundays.

I don't think anyone really cares that Chik-Fil-A is closed on Sundays. Lots of sit down restaurants are closed on certain days, some times several, so it's more of a joke, and it's annoying when you really want that food, you get all the way over their THEN remember it's Sunday.

ETA: Though, we do tend to get Cain's on Sunday evenings.
