And, yes, they would be breaking the rules. The rules do not change because "Oh, it's a loved one." I wouldn't (and couldn't, by Pi Phi's rules), give my fiance my badge to wear. He is not a member. I did, however, give my mother an allowed mother's pin.

Ok, although...I am not referring to a members pin, although there was a practice years ago of "pinning" which was a very common practice of allowing your sweetheart to wear your badge.......There are many articles written about this subject.....
I am only referring to the use of crests and coat of arms and "novelty" items being used and or worn by non members.....the badge or initiate pins are NOT what this thread is about......

I didn't "try" to quote policy. I did. Delta Gamma's policy is quite clear about using the crest on anything. It is to be used by initiated members only. As the crest is theirs - legally and ethically - that should be the last word.

You are also comparing apples to oranges, corkscrew. Sororities NEVER had a tradition of giving sweetheart badges. Let the fraternities do what they will, but our traditions are that ONLY members may wear our badges and crests/COAs. Our mother's pins may not even have any secret symbols on them so don't lecture us about giving out symbols to people. We have our rules that we will enforce as we choose. There is a huge difference between wearing tshirts with other groups letters (which is an approved use, btw) and wearing another organizations jewelry (which is not.)

That isn't Earp. The words are too long and the punctuation is too correct.
Our sorority has a "Phoenix Recognition Pin" which is what we usually give our sweetheart, if we give him anything. Other sororities may not have a similar option. If they don't, he should not take it upon himself to wear whatever badge of the org might come down the pike.

Delta Gamma alumna here.
SWTXBelle is correct.
Thank you, SWTXBelle, for going to such extraordinary measures to verify.

A flounce from someone who stuck their nose where it didn't belong and made no sense with their 'arguments'. Did you even answer the question of whether you are a greek or not?
