Stop Identify Theft
I was standing behind an elderly woman in the bank. She was holding up her deposit slip. I saw her name, the amount she was depositing, and part of her checking account number. She was covering her address.
I tapped her on the shoulder. I told her, "If I was a thief, I could get all your information." I pointed at her deposit slip. She folded her deposit slip. We started talking about identify theft.
The teller called me to the counter. Before I left I said goodbye, Ms. ****.
This experience made me think about how identify thieves worked. They must worked in pairs. Because if I had an accomplice with me, he or she could have read her address.
Let's stop identify theft. Identify theft hurts everyone.
Information I had to share with you.
