This is NOT to be confused with the organized little brother (for sororities)/little sister (for fraternities) programs that existed into the mid 80s, where the brothers or sisters went through rush and a pledging process and were active supporters of the fraternity or sorority, its programs, and its philanthropy.

Thanks!! I knew that it couldn't be the second possibility, but I didn't know if there was a "new" system. Still not sure I understand if there's actually a point, though. I feel like being friends with someone and spending time with them should be enough. Maybe I'm old-fashioned.
