There are several threads talking about this. From what I gather, you randomly pick a guy and refer to him as your "little brother." I guess they would say it "strenghthens fraternity relations" or some nonsense, but all I've seen that it does is create drama.
This is NOT to be confused with the organized little brother (for sororities)/little sister (for fraternities) programs that existed into the mid 80s, where the brothers or sisters went through rush and a pledging process and were active supporters of the fraternity or sorority, its programs, and its philanthropy.
