I wasn't going to admit this, but I really have a hard time with people who make a lot of noise when they're eating. That includes crunching, biting, lip smacking, eating with their mouths open - you name it. I absolutely cringe when I see someone pick up an apple, and eat it without cutting it into small pieces first. I know this comes from 1) all of the TMJ problems I've had (jealously) and 2) Emily Post. My very close friends and family refer to it as "doing a Honey", because they KNOW that, if I'm within earshot, steam is coming from my ears!

There's much more, but by far, this is the worst!

Typing "your" when you are trying to say "you are".

Driving 20mph on the highway in the left lane because "OMFG IT'S RAINING AND MY SUV IS GONNA FLIP OVER". (Naturally, when I'm stuck behind one of these idiots, there's usually some impatient asshat behind me who's flashing his brights at ME as if I'M to blame.) If you're that nervous, get into the right lane, or better yet, get off the freaking highway altogether.

Bringing a baby or small child into a restaurant past the child's bedtime. Parents of small children - go out for lunch, go for an early dinner, or get a babysitter. Don't drag your 3yo into a restaurant and let him/her run rampant because s/he really should be in bed.

And on that note, I have a pet peeve with restaurants that offer children's menus that obviously clash with the restaurant's normal offerings. I understand a burger joint offering a small burger and fries as a children's offering. But I have been to Indian restaurants that offer mozzarella sticks and fries on the kids' menu (geez ... offer them a small plate of pakoras or a half-size plate of chicken tikka masala). I could go on from there. If you are going to the trouble to take your child to a <insert cuisine here> restaurant, let him/her order a small plate that adheres to the cuisine. Otherwise you might as well take him/her to McDonald's.

I agree with all of the above (though I would say letting your children run rampant ANYWHERE is annoying). When I take my nephew to eat, I purposely pick places that don't serve chicken fingers or french fries or else the kid will order the same thing EVERY TIME.

I almost didn't post because, in her post immediately before this one, christiangirl did what I'm about to describe. lol Nothing but love for you, cj.

I cringe when I see the words "above" and "below" used as nouns or in an awkward structure.

Noun: See the above for more information.
Awkward: See the above message for more information.
Preferred: See the message above for more information.

The noun/awkward conformations are only marginally correct, imo. On an ironic note, I'm guilty of these unfortunate uses of above/below myself.

There's a guy here at work that is a subcontractor and is just sitting here somewhat tempprarily. He drinks pop, coffee, etc throughout most of the day and slurps so loudly with every sip. It is like fingernails on a blackboard to me.

Also, people that yell about sharing the road with bikers, yet don't follow the rules themselves. Not staying in bike lanes. Blasting through red lights and stop signs. Being mad at pedestrians because they're taking up the sidewalk that the bikers want to ride on. Grr.

Who exactly is cj? *stern look*

"All of the above" appears on exams everywhere--blame it on my years of education!

And this is every day, about 4 to 5 times a day. I'm not exaggerating, it really is. I'm generally a very patient, calm person but the way they drive here gets me, and it gets me very upset. I get upset because there's nothing I can do about it. I have no driving patience for these folks here. I'm getting mad posting about it.

Live in Michigan for a month and you'll want to move back to CT. They drive slow every day and all over, not just in the passing lane. And then when they merge into traffic, getting on the freeway, they do about 40 mph going onto the freeway while most folks (on the freeway) are doing about 60... still 10 mph below the speed limit. If Toyota had a tech center in MN. I'd move back home. It's that bad, and it's so frustrating. I'm really getting tired of this broke, non-driving state. I really am.
I really do not experience what you do on the roads at all. Everywhere I go, people are going 10 over, unless it is rush hour stop n go traffic. I get ticked off when I'm going 80 or 85 in the fast lane and people are getting right up on my tail and flashing their lights. Sorry folks, you don't need to go more than 15 over and I'm not getting behind someone going 70 when I'm going 85.

I agree with the above POSTS (for preciousjenni), except that I find that the reality TV on cable is the worst. The network shows aren't nearly as bad. I think of Survivor and the Amazing Race more as game shows than reality shows, honestly.

I concur.

That's because this is PB's way of driving. 100 mph is slow to him.

And that's why God gave us babysitters.
