Apparently they are very pleased not only with the quantity but also with the quality of the girls they ended up with.

It's all the PNMs reading GC and sticking with the process.

This is what I had heard too, so was surprised that now they have a pledge class 50% larger than everyone else. Where to put all these people? So excited for them to have such a fun problem!

I think this is the 3rd year of rush since recolonizing, but I could be wrong.

Yes, they colonized Spring '09, so this is their 3rd formal recruitment. Those that were freshmen when they colonized would now be seniors, so there may be a healthy chunk of members graduating this year. IIRC, interest in the colony was predominately freshmen.
Congrats to your daughter, the Auburn Thetas, and all the groups on campus. Another successful recruitment.

The last number I saw on here was 1311 signed up. If that was the final number, that placement rate is phenomenal!
eta/my understanding is the 3rd year is the make or break year on a colony, so it looks like Theta is in great shape! And I'm interested to hear if there's room for expansion too. It sounds like Auburn is a very welcoming campus that is open to change within their Greek system.

That's sort of what I've gathered from my first year on a colonization team. I'm glad to see they're doing so well!

The sister of one of my high school friends pledged Gamma Phi, so I'm very excited for her!

Only if you aren't on their first bid list. And with RFM, first list equals whatever number quota is. So if quota is 50 and you are in the first 50 on their list, you will match. It's after that where it gets a little problematic.
But whether by hand or computer, the match is PNM to chapter, not the other way around.

No. The second bid list is arranged in order of preference. If Suzy Allen is #10 and Jennifer Zizo is #9 on the second list for XYZ and they have one spot left, if both girls put them first, Jennifer gets the spot. Suzy's name may come up first, but she will be displaced as soon as Jennifer's card is pulled and Suzy will be bumped to her second choice group.

True but what I said is that it can get "problematic" at that point. There are rare times where a sort of logjam can occur and you have to either clear someone by checking ahead on other lists or just pulling her out of sequence in order to free things up. Doesn't happen often but I have seen it happen. I just didn't want anyone to think that there couldn't be an issue at some point. It is rare and there are ways to handle it.
