Let me try to make sense of this. You have a family member who was in a local sorority that became a Kappa chapter? If she has a Kappa key and is a member in good standing, then she's a Kappa. If she calls herself a Kappa because her local chapter eventually became one, then no. However, your family member should know that and makes me wonder what's up. If she was offered the opportunity to alumna initiate because of her situation but never got around to it, she's not a Kappa.

If you are thinking your family member is not being fully legit, ask to see her pin. If she "lost it" or never got one, then you have your answer.

You're kidding, right?

I would have been in trouble for about 6 years when I "lost" my pin, thank goodness we moved again and I found it while unpacking boxes....
