The problem with the UK Office is that David Brent (played by Ricky Gervais) is just soooo awkward that it literally makes me squirm. Michael Scott has this lovability (if that's even a word) to him that is kind of endearing and people kind of realize that his character, while an idiot, mostly has good intentions. David Brent is just slimy and weird. But, a lot of people like it a lot better. It only ran for a couple of seasons, though.

So, the American version lasted longer. I really like The Office. I also like Steve Carell.
