This! I have a theory that there's some special message in those books that is going to make those who have read them all rise up and try to take over the world on the same day. I'm going to be the lone ranger out there trying to save them from themselves.
Too cult-ish for me, but I'm sure I'm going to have to read HP with my kids when they get old enough.

Have to completely disagree about Harry Potter -- at least if we're talking about the books. They are fantastic. The movies -- pretty good to disappointing. The over-marketing? Ugh.
I can truly say, though, that the Harry Potter books were by far the most fun books to read out loud with the kids. You can have so much fun with the voices.

I agree with all these except Chelsea Handler. She's funny sometimes.

But not these. I am a closest top 40 fan in the car. There's something about vapid, catchy lyrics that have become my guilty pleasure.

Nooooooooooooooooo! I'm obsessed with Mumford recently. British folk rock = basically my dream genre, and it's super chill, which is the phase I'm definitely in with my 'real' music tastes (i.e. not top 40 stuff).

Forrest Gump?!?! This is my favorite movie, by far. It has just a little bit of everything, which is why I love it so.

Absolutely not. I will not stand for this. Yes, it's a cult, but I started reading HP when I was almost 11 and I fully expected to get a Hogwart's letter so I wouldn't have to go to middle school. The last movie is now coming out now that I'm done with my fourth year of college. I.grew.up.with.Harry.Potter. And I will never, ever speak ill of him or allow others to.

Maybe I have a different definition of "Overrated" than some?

No, I had the same thought when Efron and some others like Jennifer Aniston were brought up.

Yeah, I know lots of people love it. But I don't -- I probably would have walked out of the theater if we hadn't been there with friends. I've given it a try once of twice since then, but I just can't watch it. It's just way too syrupy and lacking in subtlety for my taste.

OMG. I am about to agree with you. I love Florence and the Machine. I listen to her album at work all the time. She has a quirky voice and interesting songs. She's not quite top 40 which is what I guess I like about her.

Ex-Mr 33 would be so happy to see all the Forrest Gump hate. He detests that movie.
The British Office is WAAAAAAY better than the American one. David Brent is SUPPOSED to make you squirm. Plus Tim & Dawn are a lot cuter than Jim & Pam.
Everyone dissing FOTM & Chelsea Handler better sleep with one eye open tonight.

"Allow others to"? You don't have to speak ill of him if you don't want to, but I just did, and I still think Harry Potter is dumb.
