A spring step show needs to be planned in the late summer and finalized with more teams than you really need by December.
A fall step show needs to have planning start the previous April.
That sort of planning at Georgetown's step shows in the early 00s used to get us SO MANY TEAMS. And it wasn't even a competition! (That's how I met my first LSUs, MSUs, OPBs, etc etc)

You make a good point at my Alma Mater we started planning our show nearly a year before hand. I stand corrected.
