Why do some brides on this show bring SO many people to their appointments. I could not function with that many people sharing opinions.

I get that some people are close with their families, but the whole "my WHOLE family HAS to like it before I buy it" thing is kind of silly to me. I think that's how people end up buying something they don't actually like and regretting it.

I wonder sometimes if the door is opened by the parents paying for it, and then OMG everyone has to come along.

that or they're in NYC for a special trip so everyone comes along.

Probably.

See I know plenty of people whose moms/dads paid for their dresses, but didn't INSIST on having a say in what they chose.

True, although no one I know is going to Kleinfeld's either.

Wonder how much the show is selecting those people too.

Or it's just that some people need to make their own decisions!

I don't get this either. Everyone has a different opinion and half the girls just end up confused. The consultants are always complaining about it because it makes the sale harder. Not to mention a lot of them come in wanting to be "sexy" on their wedding day and all the older folks in the crowd are horrified (as am I as a viewer...tacky). So what was the point in bringing them in the first place? The bride knows something that showcases her boobs isn't going to impress grandma. Come on.

I care what my family thinks-to an extent. I seriously doubt my dad, brothers, and cousins actually care what kind of wedding dress I wear. They would probably rather be slowly drilling screws into each of their toes than sitting through that.

I second that. I know what I wanted and I am sure that the more people I brought the more my idea would have gotten muddled. I think the only person that really needs to be there is the bride and the person paying for the dress (usually the mom or dad). I brought my MOH, (at the time future) MIL and SIL, when I went to pick out the accessories and the dress was already picked out. That way they get to be part of the dress experience but the hard part was already over.
