Have you ever been through a bitter divorce? Have you ever seen how the kids are affected when the parents constantly fight?

Just because someone gets sole custody doesn't mean they are the better parent. And just because one parent gets sole custody, doesn't mean that the other parent doesn't get their time with the children. Sole custody means they live with that parent, that they don't go back and forth between living situations. And NO ONE can determine what is better for the kids unless they are involved in those kids' lives. Who knows what the actual stipulations were between Jon and Kate as far as the custody goes.

According to Kate's special on TLC, she and Jon don't have a formal custody arrangement through their lawyers. They are continuing to work it out between themselves so that they can each spend equal time in the kid's lives.

I don't know if that's the best way to do it, but hey, if it works for them...
