You know he wants Kate to pay him alimony, and not the other way around, right? I'd like to see that one happen
I do agree with you on your last statement, though! And I seriously hope she does. Stupid douchebag.

How? He breached his contract, and numerous times from the sound of it. We all know that reality shows aren't as "real" as they are made to seem. In the end, its always going to be about contracts, money, etc. I think they have every right to and SHOULD sue him.

ummm who said they are suing him for "acting real." It's called a breach of contract, that is what they are suing him for.
Besides Jon has a bunch of other "reality" type shows lined up, ones that his bffl Michael Lohan has started setting up for him.

It seems like his lawyer was a bit behind on all of this - if it was filed with the MD court, I would assume that means he's already been served with summons and complaint (although I'm not an expert on MD civil procedure).
PM_Mama - as the others have said, it's a breach of contract claim. There were probably parts of the contract where TLC outlined how Jon & Kate could refer to TLC and the show in their public appearances. There may have been some general "code of conduct" provisions.
One thing that's interesting to me is how people are either very much pro-Jon or pro-Kate. I understand how it's the American way to choose sides in these things, but it's just kind of funny. In my mind, both of them made mistakes - it's not surprising, in that neither appear to be all that intelligent (although Kate seems to have better PR and media relations people), but they certainly have the public choosing up sides.

My dad asked me the other day, "Who are Kate and...and..." and I said, "Jon?" I explained how they have all these kids, and it's their real life, not a sitcom. Hah oh parents!

Haha, yeah, that works too.
The thing is, this story's not going to die - at least one of the kids will grow up to be a total mess from all of this and become the Lindsay Lohan of the next generation. It's tough enough seeing your parents go through a divorce - I can't imagine how tough it is when they're doing it in the media, and when both are actively using the media to make the other look like a horrible person and parent.

I was just talking about this last night and comparing it to the Dionne Quintuplets mess. Those girls grew up to be either trainwrecks or in a convent (and the rest of the family was equally messed up from all the attention). This was back in the 30s - apparently those who cannot remember the past, yadda yadda yadda.

Tonight is the series finale. I haven't really watched JK+8 since the divorce announcement, so I won't be tuning in tonight.
Also, Kate was awarded primary custody of the kids today in court:

I'm watching the finale. Jon should never have pissed off TLC. Let's just leave it at that.

Who cares??? They need to live their lives. I hope things quiet down for them and they stay OUT of the public eye for a while. These kids need to learn what life is like without the cameras around all the time. Yes there will be paparazzi but at least they can try to lead a "normal" life in their home.
And Kate, when IS a good time for it to be over? Since you say it's too early. I'm really curious when a good time to stop exploiting your children is.

As in who cares that Jon pissed off TLC? Should you keep your kids on TV because you're afraid to piss off a network? NO. Kate is a dumbass for wanting to keep her kids on the show longer.
Also, had you heard about the court case before commenting, Jon said he didn't want to fight Kate over custody so it's not like the courts said "Kate's a better parent".
