As far as I'm concerned, posters need to recognize that their posting style plays into how they are percieved as the person tied to the username. If people are constantly throwing offhand and oftentimes offensive remarks into their posts, they're going to be percieved as an offensive poster.
For a poster to turn around and play the victim while ignoring their own offensive or, let's face it, just plain stupid, comments ties the association that the OP is obtuse to them for several months or years down the line.
In short: Deal with it and stop playing the m-fing victim.
