OMG THANK YOU! I'm getting sick of it. I know I've shared this story before, so I'll give the short version: I'm about to be 21 and I was mistaken for a 13 year old. I went to buy a student discounted ticket to a high school basketball game (my brother was playing in the Jazz Band), and the lady asked me if that discount "would be for high school or grade school?" Really lady?! I was wearing an Illinois hoodie too. Not that college kids are the only ones who wear those, but I think I would have helped. I really need to start wearing making everywhere I go...
Yes, I know I'll appreciate it later...just not right now... lol

This is so funny. I am 24 and I recently got carded buying tickets for a rated R movie (I am 5'0 and 100 lbs soaking wet). I actually don't mind it. At least people don't mistake me for 35 or something.

I am beginning to appreciate it now, at 28. Several of my girlfriends smoke and worship the sun, and you can tell. Most people, when we're out, guess that they're 28, and that I'm 22 or so. It's great! It really is good genes--my grandmothers all aged really well and are in great physical shape too.

This thread is quickly turning into a "I look younger than my age" thread, but anyway...
I was traveling from TX to NY and my plane seat was in the Emergency Exit aisle. The stewardess walks by and asks, "Oooohhh and how old are you?" I told her "21" and when I saw the shocked look on her face I added "...I can show you my ID if you need me to!" She told me it was unnecessary. However, at the time I didn't know how old you had to be to sit in an exit seat and I just assumed that it was 18. Then an even younger girl sat next to me and upon finding out that this girl is 13, the stewardess told her that you need to be at least 15! I didn't know I looked that young (apparently 14)!
My best friend was asked if she had a chaperone with her when trying to board a plane and she was 19 (you have to be 13 to fly alone) so I guess someone else got the shorter end of the stick!

Why yes, I am going to continue the thread hijack.
On the bright side, I suppose there are worse false assumptions that one can make...Such as asking a woman, "When are you due?" when she's not pregnant, or addressing a person by Mr./Ms./Sir/Ma'am when they are a member of the OPPOSITE sex! (And no, I've never done either of those things, lol)

That pretty much sums it up, lol.
And it was more of a probablity thing too. My understanding...in my grandparents days it was rare for a black family to have a family pet, unless they were on a farm.

That's also a total urban vs. rural thing. My father's family always had several animals--dogs, horses, etc. My mother hates animals, but that's pretty much the only reason I didn't grow up with a menagerie. We had a horse growing up, but she was clearly boarded elsewhere.

Yeah, I do actually.
I think a better stereotype is:
White people have lots and lots and lots of fish in one tank. Like, thousands of dollars worth of fish and equipment.

Ok to get back on topic, a friend of mine once asked me "Don't all the old women at your church wear those big, crazy hats?"
I mean, ok, so my grandma DOES fit the stereotype to a tee but still.........

That I can't dance
Regional: I am from Utah, doesn't mean I am mormon or conservative
Starbucks one is true and so is the fact that I love anything with Apple electronics
