When I was a senior in college, I was continually asked, "what year are you in?" to which I responded, "Senior." Then, invariably, came, "Oh, where are you going to college?" Granted, I
was younger than your average graduate, but it drove me crazy anyhow.
But yes, you
do appreciate it as you get older. I've been carded three times in the last two years, and I am very, very grateful! Last week, I went to my ob-gyn, and the receptionist was shocked at my age. Look at it as good genes - my mother didn't age a
bit until my daddy died.
Another somewhat racial stereotype is having red hair. I am lucky, but rubbing my hair is not going to help you! I don't have a bad temper, but if accused of it too much, I could be tempted to make an exception. Just because my eyes are hazel, not blue, does NOT mean I bleach my hair!
I could go on forever about redheaded rumors, but you all get the idea.
