If you're going to say my story is fake, which it isn't, at least base your opinion on some credible fact. In my major, we are graded mostly on papers. This semester, I do not have a single test-based class, and as a result no finals. I did, however, have five papers that were all due last week and the week before. In essence, I've already had my finals week and don't really have much to do besides pack everything up and go home. Please don't insult me again with such a stupid, frivolous argument.

To everyone else who has stated arguments that are not ridiculous such as the bathroom rule and the fact that I was able to bring my purse into the house, did it ever occur to you that maybe my Panhellenic is not as strict as the ones that you have experienced? I'm not saying your
Panhellenics are unnecessarily strict. I do think that some of the protocol my Panhellenic calls for should be enforced more than it is, and many of the rules they set in place are ignored, or at least not taken seriously, by many sororities on campus.

To be fair, PJS didn't make an argument; she made a statement. And you gotta admit - to be on round 3 after 8 pages (and two and a half weeks) makes for a pretty slow read. Especially considering it's a retro story. Even a real-time story would've been complete by now.

It's obvious that your Panhellenic is not strict. That's part of the problem. It's so un-strict that it seems untrue.

I've refrained from commenting on this story so far because, like someone pointed out very early on (page one or two maybe), even if it's a complete fabrication, it still serves its purpose (which, I assume, is to entertain). Keep in mind, though, that good fiction novelists do their research and write from an educated pov. There are glaring errors from a Panhellenic pov that scream "Un-researched!" in this story. That's all I'm sayin'.

You completely misread me, hun. I absolutely made no such allegations. Several have, and have stated their reasons. My comment was based solely on the story development and how long it is taking. I'm a mom helping pay my kid's tuition. If you had 5 papers due in the last two weeks, I am all for you getting them done, and I hope they went well!! I just don't understand starting a story on GC that you seemingly didn't have the time to write right now.

That's all I was sayin'. Thanks, SydneyK

Oh, I'm so sorry - I didn't understand what you were saying. I guess I jumped to conclusions too quickly.

-No one can think of ANY large school with a competitive recruitment that has 14 groups and multiple locals.

-No one has ever heard of having eight houses in the third round in such a recruitment.

Credible enough?

There are multiple people on here who work with the types of school you described, and at least one of them would have chimed in with "I know what school this is - I know it sounds weird, but it's true" when you started throwing some of these improbabilities out.

Maybe you don't understand the difference between a local and a national, or you meshed all the sororities of all types (NPC, NPHC, professional, service) together in your story, but that's the only way I can think of that this could be remotely true. Like SydneyK said, if you wanted to do this right, you really needed to do your research and not stray from it for the sake of livening up the plot.

Again, please do not insult my intelligence. I know the difference between a local and a national sorority. And again, I'm not going to bother defending my story to you anymore, so don't bother criticizing it. People are going to believe it or they're not.

I'm puzzled so many people are dying to hear a story that's clearly a fantasy from someone who's dying for validation. But whatever.

I asked the same question several pages back. Other than Srmom's somewhat comical response, I didn't really get a good answer.

And now we know why she has been too busy to finish her story.
