Also, you can access e-mail from any working computer with internet and change a phone message to read "we've been hit by Ike and will be returning to our warehouse as soon as we're allowed." She also said that one of her employees has and has had power for a while now, so it would have been very easy for someone to just shoot a mass e-mail to those who had e-mailed them wondering about their order. Sounds like some slack to me, Squirrel.

Their FAQ states an order can take up to 3-4 weeks, and since you previously stated you ordered it August 31st (a Sunday), it has now been three weeks; they also say during peak times it can take longer, and that is a peak time for rush at many schools. If you did a RUSH or FAST SHIP order that might be different, but they plainly state this on their page, and they had a natural disaster which obviously changes things. Also during that time span at the end of August, these people in Texas had the threat of Hurricane Gustav.
Neither of us know what sort of system they had for email, and not every system is accessible from every working computer. Maybe their customer database was unavailable or there was a server or password issue. I just don't understand your anger and impatience when even without natural disasters (two hurricanes in the time since you ordered) your stuff may not have arrived under optimal conditions.

Combine that with the fact that I only just learned that they're based out of Houston and therefore didn't know that they were affected by the hurricane and that I ordered about two weeks before the hurricane hit (which should have been more than enough time to get back with me under the circumstances), and I was just worried that my order had been lost in transit somewhere and that I was going to be billed for items never received.
|
On their main webpage it gives their contact information, and plainly states their phone number and address, in Houston. Maybe because I have lived outside of a major metro area for awhile, I always try and figure out where my stuff is coming from so I can keep shipping times realistic.
You still have over a month, you can always order from somewhere else. I realize your money is tied up there, but they are suffering from a natural disaster, and I don't think blasting them online is very appropriate.

This is from their website under the FAQ www.joetoga.com
When will I get my order?
We recommend allowing 3 - 4 weeks on average to receive your order. During certain peak periods allow additional time. We ship orders Tuesday through Friday.

That she said that is what I based my time frame on.
And I don't know about you, but I would expect to hear something other than just seeing my credit card billed even if it would take 4 weeks to ship. That doesn't seem unreasonable at all and I would be upset too if I heard nothing.

Well she may have ordered in the middle of September in the past, but she ordered at the end of August during, and preceding a hurricane this time. I guess I am the unreasonable person here for reading an FAQ and realizing that acts of God do happen, and I'd be a bit more gracious if I was dealing with someone who lived through a natural disaster. I guess I'd just be thankful a hurricane didn't hit my town and order somewhere else since I still had five weeks.
I feel the need to order something from them to restore the balance of the world or something. Hey SenusretI, would you like me to cross stitch you the Alpha crest? They sell those kits, or perhaps a nice APhiO picture frame?

I have some serious needlecraft skillz. What do you think I do in the winter or when I'm living in a tent and not showering and have no way to get into a town? You should see the scarf I finished for VandalShyster, it is hard core. I'm also making a baby blanket.

Just chiming it because I've also had great experience with Joe Toga.

Supposedly it was returned again. Crystal, one of the company owners claims that she used FedEx and UPS, which I find hard to believe because even if I had not been at home, they could have left the items at my apt complex office. At any rate, several more emails and phone calls later, the items still did not recieve by September 7th, when I needed them for. We ordered in June. We had plenty of time to receive the items, and never did. Last week, I asked for a refund. I have not heard back yet. I'm not surprised to see 2 other delivery issues filed at the BBB with this company in the past 12 months. I wish I had looked on BBB before I purchased from them.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to be very thorough when I submitted my complaint to the BBB - their online complaint form only allows you to type so much. So I'm posting a blog for everyone to see (PM me if you want my blog address to read the full story - emails included). Please spread the word.... Don't shop from Greek For Me...they were cheaper than everyone else by like, $30 on my order, and now I know why.

That's funny you posted this. I ordered something from them on August 1st. I know it was that day because I still have the e-mail confirmation. About a month after that, the lady told me she was going to send me a tracking number. She said I should have received the shirt on 8-22. I never got the tracking number or the shirt. So, I called and told her that I was still waiting on the tracking number. She apologized and said she was going to mail out another shirt for me last week. Maybe she did, I haven't checked my po box this week. I'll check it tomorrow. If it isn't there, I'm just going to forget it and report them to the BBB too. I'm also going to call and let those jokers know their business is being talked about on greekchat.

It became a mantra for some of my sisters for a good semester when that movie came out.

Yeah they did, which was pretty funny. VandalShyster used to say that in reference to me if someone was doing something I disapproved of or if he was eating more than his fair share of food we had.
