Can we please close this thread or move it to the off topic forum? I don't see what any of these past few posts have to do with "Greek Life".

Ooops, sorry. I forgot where I was. Mods please delete my comment since it has zero to do with Greek Life. Sometimes I type before I think.

I posted this picture last night in the News section when the whole "Sarah Palin isn't trig's mom" controversy stopped on a lot of those blogs.

It's a little hard to see though. But you can see Bristol's stomach going under Trig's butt and up against his legs.
ETA: it is speculated she's about 6-7 months (if not more).

Barack very sternly suggested that the media leave her family out, and even offered his own mother being 18 when she had him as an example of his own personal situation. The Dems are not attacking this issue, and if they are Obama does not condone it. Very smart play.

I didn't know baby was a hot button feminist word?

It is when it is meant as offensive and demeaning. That's definitely the way my dear friend, Tom, meant it.

Would I find it cool if a Kappa were on the presidential ticket? Sure. But it's not a deal-sealer or a deal-breaker. W is Greek, and IMHO that didn't do thing one to boost his presidency.
Even if McCain were a Phi Tau (my husband's affiliation) and/or Palin a Kappa, I wouldn't vote for them anyway. And I know a bunch of Republicans who feel the same way regarding Obama/Biden.
I don't know a single Theta who joined because of Sheryl Crow. I don't know a single Phi Tau who joined because of Paul Newman. If someone were rushing Kappa because of Ashley Judd I'd be suspicious and probably suggest that we cut her.
Point being, oldu, I don't find the lack of Greek letters on the Presidential ticket tragic at all. I think that it is what it is.

What I can do is stop by the library today and peruse The Gem of the Mountains, the campus yearbook that was printed until five or so years ago. I'm thinking she lived in the Residence Halls or off campus.
I know when I was in Alaska last summer her face was everywhere, including the Delta Junction library since she supports reading and libraries. On the train they mentioned her hometown of Wasilla and I did a portion of the Vandal fight song, the tourists had a good laugh. I also am reserving judgment on the status of her new child as we don't know their family dynamics so her husband or another family member may be caring for that child full time so she can fulfill her duties as governor.

I have seen things about her here and there in the Vandal Vibe but never did it mention a Greek affiliation.

I'm going to check the University of Idaho yearbook this afternoon, but I am pretty sure the answer is NO.

Agreed, I never showed up in the "Was Joe Biden in a fraternity?" thread to question his judgment for not quitting the Senate when his boys were in the hospital and his wife died or to point out how I better donate to McCain because Biden's just another tax-and-spend democrat (blech!).
So how bout we have the same decorum here, dems?

I just looked through the yearbook Gem of the Mountains and only found ONE picture of her in 1987, her senior photo. I went back four years and did not find her name listed under any sorority chapter photo or in a women's residence hall. This doesn't mean she isn't in a sorority, but it is highly unlikely. Sure she could have joined and then dropped, but that would mean she pledged a sorority and isn't a member.
Don't we think if she was our sister our Inter/National Organizations would have already listed her as an accomplished member when she was elected as the governor of Alaska?

Really those two are approximately the left's version of Rush and the Hannity radio show. I understand reading them, but just like listening to Rush or Hannity, I wouldn't go admitting in public that I did.
