Is Sarah Palin a sorority member?

John McCain's running mate is Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska. She is a graduate of University of Idaho. Does anyone known if she joined a sorority? Greeks are not doing so well this time around, with only Cindy McCain being Greek out of the eight candidates and spouses.

I doubt it ... Sigma Alpha (agricultural) appears to be the most likely candidate and her interests seemed to be communications/journalism.

I don't think she's a Kappa because she would have been profiled in The Key as was Massachusetts Governor Jane Swift (Trinity College, Zeta Theta Chapter).

We don't have a chapter there, so ADPi is out.

From what I could find it never mentions a sorority affiliation; and based on the Joe Biden search I would say that no mention means no affiliation. (since I can't imagine a bio stating "She attended the Univeristy of Idaho and did not participate in Greek Life")

She isn't a Tri Sigma. Using the list that KSUViolet06 put together here, there has never been a chapter of Tri Sigma at the University of Idaho (her Alma Mater.)

So that's, what, 3 down and 23 to go? Haha.

And by the way, the first question I asked was... "IS SHE GREEK?"

huh???

There are quite a few NPC sororities at Idaho.

Paging VandalSquirrel.

There is a Pi Phi chapter at Idaho, and I don't think I've heard of her being a Pi Phi.

I could be totally off base ... it wouldn't be the first time ... but here's the webpage I found. Please correct me if I am mistaken. :)

You are definitely off base. My sorority (Pi Phi) has a chapter at Idaho and VandalSquirrel, an active member of GC, is an AGD from Idaho.

Benzgirl 08-29-2008 12:26 PM

She is not an Alpha Gam initiate from the Idaho chapter.

But did U of I have those same groups when Palin was in college from 82-87?
