a few months ago i asked if we mods. could try to come to a consensus on how to handle the more common tos violations so that our actions are more in line with one another. the majority thought that is was not a good idea and it was scratched.

^^^ Generally speaking, why would anyone think it's a bad idea?

Because then they can't use the Recruitment Forum for their own personal agenda.

I mean, come on people, let's call a spade a spade. What most of us are trying to say (with the possible exception of the NPHC folks) is that the Recruitment forum is overmodded for personal agenda, and carny is the main culprit, being a helimom herself.

It's hard to get consensus about anything on GC.

Even if we did have standards, they would be virtually unenforceable.

alphafrog, you are mistaken in assuming that the recruitment moderators are against this.

kevin's statement is exactly the type of remark that was made when i first made my suggestion in the mod forum.

I probably made that remark. I mean to say -- you give me any kind of "standard" and I'll bet there are a lot of situations which come up where that standard shouldn't really apply, or would make things worse.

I'd be interested in hearing a few non-mod perspectives on that, or whatever policies people think ought to be universal.

"This thread isn't appropriate for this forum, so I am moving it to Chit Chat."

"I'm locking this thread because I had 6 reports about the content. Certain posts may be removed and the thread re-opened shortly. Thanks for your patience."

"I am closing and pinning this thread to highlight the information it contains."

"I will be moving this thread to mod corner for clean up and it will return shortly. I've decided to move it to mod corner so other mods can help sort out the issues in this thread to remove any bias I may have."

That way posters will know what's going on and that other posters and members of GC were complaining and it's not just the mod serving their own personal agenda by erasing or deleting what THEY don't like.
While agree that SOMETIMES leaving a note as to the moderation of the thread is fair, other times, I am not going to explain why certain rituals and secretive information will be deleted without question and without explanation, like I had just had to yesterday for the second time.

And, as a matter of fact, my actions are sanctioned from my International HQ. They are telling us and my sorority sisters that ANY electronic discussion of information regarding ritual or secrets are verboten. So, I am attempting to comply to the rules. Most of the super-mods agree and understand that as the information from my HQ was given to them by me.

As such, if searched and found by my echelon of members, John could get in trouble for it... And no one wants that to happen.

So, at best, if it violates our TOS and POW announcements, it will be either closed or deleted without question and we do not need to provide explanation. If the poster repeats it, both AKA2D'91 and I will recommend banishment for harassment. It is about protecting everyone here with comfortable, respectful discourse, sharing of opinions and hopefully a learning process...

I doubt John cares about getting in trouble with some members... Although I do agree about keeping ritual info unexplained.

But once again, we're not discussing individual GLO forums.

When I say "echelon", I mean my International governing board, my president. And believe me, she's been known to email all kinds of press releases and other things with the full brigade of legal power she manifests... So, it's not about a few disgruntled members of AKA on GC, from my perspective, and I think through a few of my "GC sorority chapter" (LOL), our hands are tied more so as to what can and cannot be stated beyond the AKA international website.

ETA: It's basically CYAing our GC personas...

The problem comes in when craziness is posted in other non-GLO thread forums. Like homegirl who "pointblank" said her mother is an AKA and she thinks she should not go legacy and go under recruitment for NPC and this thread was in the GL forum. That is an inappropriate discussion anywhere and she needs to have a personal reflection about how to live her life...

As far as what you all discussing, like LL's stuff--welp, it was bound to be shutdown and while I agree with what she said, it was her tone and the manner she said it to parents, which is an unwise thing to do overall--folks just don't like to hear their little princess is a hellion--LOL. I have no opinion about why it was archived, though.

Lol at "full brigade of legal power". That full brigade of legal power should be pointed elsewhere where there's discussion of AKA ritual and other business on the web. A full brigade of legal power really won't be too concerned with a message board, unless something really big is going down.

Again, what you're talking about and what's being talked about in this thread are two totally different things.

(I must talk to someone in my office about being part of a "brigade").
