Since I was raised in Louisiana, southern always means Louisiana to me! You could name her Lagniappe and nickname her Laney. It means "a little something extra." Like MysticCat said, magnolia would be a good name. My dog's name is Willow (he's a red headed dachschund so we named him after the character from the movie Willow...Willow Ufgood.) Willow is sorta southern. Jolie is also a southern name...French for pretty. Any double name will sound southern, also...ie. Anna Kay, Billy Lee, Sally Ann. You get the idea.
