To require a company to employ a certain number of minority people even though they may not be the most qualified. This is the decline of the American culture.. What's next? It must end somewhere, or the United States is going to become a Wild West show where people are going to be able to whatever they please because we might offend someone.

i really didnt want to say nothing in this thread, but i couldnt let this post get by me...
first off...Puerto Rico is a commonwealth and has no vote in the general election, they can only vote in the primaries, just like all the other Territories the US has.
The reason why the NAACP was created was because back then, blacks didnt have a fair chance, so we needed an organization that would help level the playing field. and FYI, the naacp was NOT founded by black folks, it was founded by a few white jewish folk. SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!! i personally think the naacp is irrelevant now, but you know what, its better than having nothing tho.
and the reason for affirmative action is, because even though we're still in 2008, its still hard for qualified black folks to get positions. i'm not saying just hire any random black person, especially if there's someone more qualified than that person, but damn, without Aff. Action, we(black folks) would have even more odds stacked against us in the workforce.

Decline of america??? how bout the decline of america started when YOUR forefathers had slaves and was treating them worse than 2nd class citizens. Or about when companies place more value in the amount of money they make, and cutting down on overhead than in loyalty to & the welfare of their employees. Gays in america & fraternities/sororities is the least of the problems.
