I think the photo is very elegant - but it is of a girl of 15. Shame on her parents for leaving her alone with AL and not thinking Miley would be talked into something like this!

It's her age that bothers me, not the photo.

Honestly, I don't think the photo is really that flattering. And from what I read, her parents were there through almost all the photo shoot. They left and a few final photos were taken, including the controversial one.

I don't think Vanity Fair is the proper media venue for a 15-year-old Disney sweetheart, but obviously her manager thought it was okay.

Obviously. She won't be 15 forever. And Disney kids seem to end the most messed up, this might actually be a good career move.

I'm sure we'll know when we see the sales figures for her next album/movie/franchise thing they sell to teenagers

I think the photo was fine. I'm really not even fussed that she's only 15, I mean, she's a 15 year-old who attends red carpet events and is growing up in Hollywood. She's going to be a little more cosmopolitan and sophisticated than a young lady growing up out of the spotlight. If I hadn't heard so much about it I might have thought it was just a strapless, low backed shirt. Further, her fan base doesn't exactly read Vanity Fair. The only reason they're interested now is the media firestorm.

Quite frankly, I find the picture of her laying across her father in a midriff shirt far creepier.

I think the point is....it is her manager and/or parents who need to be raked over the coals for their bad choice....not Annie Liebovitz or Vanity Fair.

co-sign. There is no way they did not sign off on the photos that were used.

Disney's Official Response:
"Unfortunately, as the article suggests, a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines."

Looks like they're going to stick by their teenybopper this time. More here:

Considering the fact that Disney still supported Vanessa Hudgens after nude photos surfaced, this comes to no surprise.

I think it is really creepy of a 15 yr old to pose like that... (and I'm also going to admit, those creepy pix of her & her dad are scary too).

I honestly think she's doing it (or her parents were saying the shoot was OK) because her Dad wants to pimp her out for as long as he possibly can since his career didn't work out too well... hence the "best of both worlds" Hannah Montana / Miley Cyrus concert/CD. She's always been known as Hannah Montana and she's not getting younger, neither are her fans, so she's trying to broaden her fanbase so she can be marketed differently and still bring in the dough.

All my coworkers are predicting a Lindsay Lohan/Britney Spears episode a few years down the road...

lol. I agree. I couldn't imagine taking a picture like that with my dad. I think he'd be all awkward and weird about it the whole time. That photo looks more like a couple's engagement photo rather than a picture of a father and daughter.
