I don't necessarily consider this level headed.

Not to sound like a pedofile, but I have seen worse by what my little sister shows me on her friends' myspace pages. That is typical of what I have seen of that age group according to stupid myspace pictures. Kids that age want attention from their peers. That is what those appear to me.
Now, are they smart to take when you are an international star? No!

I consider that 15... or is she 16 now. Lol, she is at the age where she wants to be sexy and show her midriff, etc. Its a common phase with girls, look at the unmonitored myspace pages of anygirl 17 and under

Just because they didn't get into drugs doesn't mean everything has been smooth sailing...I would hardly say Brooke Shields, Jodie Foster or Alyssa Milano (cough cough softcore cough cough) got away "scot-free."

I thought of one. Debbie Gibson. She was a huge celeb back in the 80s and seemed to have had a smooth transition into adulthood.
I still love Debbie.

Any time someone mentions the impact of child stardom on adulthood, it makes me think of poor Jonathan Brandis. He was my first crush!

River Phoenix is another sad case.
Call me prejudiced, but I think that Danica McKellar turned out all right!

Zackary Ty Bryan
Jonathan Taylor Thomas
Jenna Von Oy (I heard that she was in a sorority. Is that true?)
Jennifer Love Hewitt
Lacey Chabert
Larisa Oleynik
Keri Russell
If you are wondering about Taran Noah Smith, I didn't count him. He got married soon after he turned 17. He got a divorce last year.

OMG, the first BOP magazine I ever bought was because of Jonathan Brandis!
Also - I'm surprised nobody mentioned Julia Stiles.

I didn't know that she counted as a child "star." Oh well. She's had a lot of roles but has been pretty much under the radar as far as the celebrity news is concerned.
While we're at it, Keenen and Kel and quite a few uncelebrated child stars have done pretty well for themselves.

I just am not seeing as how those pics are this big of a deal.
Anyone actually go to the Vanity Fair site and watch the video of the shoot? She's wearing pants underneath the drape. It basically is just acting as a backless shirt.
I cannot believe so much is being made about this. MY GOD Miley Cyrus showed some skin and was put in an awkward pose with her dad. OMG. I've seen 15 year-olds around here in way less.
I don't see how she has been victimized as some of you are saying. Take a look at the Vanity Fair video. If you still feel the same, good for you. At least you'll have a better sense of what was going on at that shoot.

>Here!<
Everyone's trying to blame Leibowitz for this, but seriously. Her parents and managers knew the deal. Hot star + Leibowitz=provocative photos.

I think if she didn't look so young, innocent, or scared, that picture wouldn't be so bad

That's the thing that jumps out at me. If I'm say.. a 50 year old creepy looking guy and I take pictures of a 15 year old girl which look like this, I'm probably going to the pokey for producing child pornography.
How come that isn't on the table?
Perhaps I'm off on what a "child" is under the law?

Here is my question...in 10 years...heck in even 5 years...which do you think she will be remembered more for....?
A successful TV show which culminated in a nationwide tour or some pics in a magazine?
My money is on the show...
