I don't like it either. I know I am being extra, so bear with me:
Our call is A Phi....0-6. Period. You only have to do 0-8 like ONCE in an evening. Our call is not a phi 0608.
I feel like "Oh Yeah" was thrown in there to reclaim it as an Alpha call.
I dunno, I just feel like we'd be wrong if we said A Phi after EVERY skee-wee.

As you know, this is where it gets into "well...they do that here."
I rebuke most BGLO events, but the ones I have attended where the Greeks are young or caring enough to get into this stuff, the Apes do Apeout everytime there's a "skeewee."
And maybe the "Oh yeah" was not so much about the Ape call as it is to be like "oh yeah...Lyle Love...Phirst Pham...hate us now!!"
Okay...back to not really giving a damn about this stuff.

^^^ You know what? I think I need to rebuke such things as well.
[slight hijack]Although recently I was at an event to recruit for APO (the school's NPHC invited us and some other orgs) and I met a Delta. I gave my name and shook her hand. She looked at me funny and was like "I didn't know Alphas shook hands." And I was like "Oh.....are we supposed to hug?" And I hugged her. But I was like dude, I don't even know you -- you just don't go around hugging women you don't know.[/slight hijack]

Well...... every single time there is an "A- Phi 0-6" some people from my chapter act like they must say Skee Wee. It was ok some time, but why can't they just let them have thier moment. Maybe I missed the memo. I love everybody, but can we let them do thier thang for a minute?

Hugging has become the "dap" of our generation. I feel like I hug 50 million people (twice) everyday.
Ex: I passed a group of guys (six of them I think) I know in the Student Center. Gave each of them a hug... Went to lunch with them... Hugged half of them before parting. Its too much.

Then don't do it.
Hugging isn't the "dap" of MY generation. And I'm sure we're in the same generation, even if I'm older than you.

I know I may be late, but the Oues did help us out with our founding. And our flower is purple and gold (african violet) partially because of them. We had a founder that was married to one of their founders, but we had other founders married to Alphas so that really doesnt have much to do with anything.

i thought hugging was more of a southern thing. when i arrived in college in NC, EVERYBODY wanted you to speak EVERY single time you saw them, and then hug as a greeting. I just assumed it was a lame way for boys to cop a feel w/o being nasty. LOL.

Lmao. This has been going on since I was a Sophomore in high school. But yes people do expect you to speak every time you see them.

In general, I'm nice to anyone I initially meet. If I find out they're in a BGLO, then that's a further connection we can draw from.
This Christmas vacation, a gentleman saw me on the bus with luggage, and figured I was coming from school on break, so he started a conversation.
Turned out that he was a Sigma from Howard, and he even personally invited me to a mixer in the city that weekend being hosted by the Deltas in the are, wherein I met a bunch of Deltas and even some of my own frat bros from the NYC Metro Area..
I feel the fact that all 9 orgs are united in a struggle for greater good makes us all Brothers and Sisters in one way or another..
