The church school wouldn't let her continue teaching there because she was a bad example to the kids since she was getting divorced.
Ugh! Why do people attend non-accredited colleges? It's a waste of money and time.

I believe she went there based on guidance from her then pastor. Neither of her parents went to college and they were very involved in their church. So they went to the person they trusted, the pastor.

Does she regret it as a 40 something woman? Probably yes. But when she was 18 and didn't know any better?

I think most kids don't even think about things like accreditation when they're in high school...I didn't. I just assumed that a college degree was a college degree, and though a degree from one school may be clearly better than another, it never ocurred to me that some degrees may not even be honored.

I've always wondered how churches with this policy interpret Psalm 150. Anyone know? /hijack
My Assembly of God grandmother used to live next door to an older CoC couple, which made for some heated religious debates. One time she and the husband were arguing about the no-music-in-church thing, and he said, "The Bible doesn't say you can have musical instruments in church." Granny, fed up, shot back, "Well, it doesn't tell you to go to the bathroom either, but you go, don't you?"

Love it. When my cranking Great Grandmother hit her 90s, she had one of her friends (a very religious woman, but I can't remember the church) over for Sunday dinner. Now Grandma K never missed a Sunday service at her Lutheran church. When she saw all of the food that this 96 year old woman prepared, her comment was something like, "bless God for preparing all of this food". Grandma K was never a person to mince words, particularly at that age. All that came out of her mouth was, "God had nothing to do with it and he didn't help me peel the potatoes either."
