I know mixers/swaps are alcohol free now and not as fun as they used to be, but they're the same way everywhere, and I don't see guys from every school complaining that the girls are just "meh" about them.

Hooking up is different from dating and making someone your girlfriend. In fact, most girls eventually learn that the surest way to NOT make a guy your boyfriend is to hook up with him. And sororities don't like to be known as the "slut" house; my friend's alma mater has a saying about the sororities on campus: (GLOs remain anonymous) "F*#$ a ABC, date a DEF, marry a XYZ." A lot of NPC sororities use a point system to ensure attendance at events and require a certain amount of points a semester - like a mixer with AKL is 10 pts, Homecoming pageant is 5 pts, etc. Here's some other threads:

i just want to take a minute to thank everyone who replied to this post.

it has helped me better understand the university of alabama.


now that we've clarified some things it has made me a much happier person I.E.

1. if u go the game with a girl...and nothing comes of it...its not personal she just needed her points and u just had to have a date anyway. also she might have a boyfriend

2. if u meet a girl at a mixer and she's not really feeling u....well she might have a bf and might actually be dead tired but has to come to get the points

3. we hold respect, pride, tradition, and values here at the univ of alabama and we stand above all the other universities where the girls compromise their morals for a little fun. our girls are classy.
