I liked having an ID holder in college. It's so much easier than digging around in your wallet when you need your student ID for things like getting into the house, paying for meals at the diner, etc. Lots of universities give freshmen ID holders, but these are so cute, plus they're canvas instead of plastic, so they'll hold up to wear and tear. I like the pink one. $5

Black canvas tote bags like this are really popular at my alma mater (mind you I am very recently graduated). We gave them to our new members last year and they were a big hit! They are the perfect size for carrying your books to class. $10
Also, this ring is drool-worthy but definitely far from the $10 budget.
