TKE Gifts??
Okay, I'm questioning you boys again. *nods*
Me and my Teke's 1-yr is in a couple of months..and I was wondering what would be nice as a TKE-themed gift? I would love to make him a paddle but, he's already seen a lot of my designs for them. I really don't want to buy him a shirt or anything like that, you know, I want something a bit more special. I've thought about maybe getting ahold of an older TKE pin and then getting his name and scroll number engraved in it, but I can only get those from ebay and even then, they're questionable. My parents have already bought him another letter shirt, so I'm clueless :P Maybe ya'll have some ideas that I haven't thought of yet?

The best TKE gift I received in college from my girlfriend and now wife was a BIG oversized Red TKE pillow. She made it and had one of her DZ sisters sew on the letters. (her DZ sister was killed a year later in a car accident, so it is even more special to both of us.) It is for laying on the floor and watching TV or studying etc.
I still have it in my home office today and our kids enjoy laying on it when we have movie night.
Just an idea. Hope you like it!
P.S. You know that "home made" gifts are much better and will always have a special place.

I have a random idea.. Maybe you can Cross-stitch his crest and get it double matted(red and silver) and put in an really nice frame. It is something that he can always use and when he looks at it he knows the meaning and the meaning of your relationship to him!
But its just an idea.. and If you don't have time to do it for your 1 year.. Try for Christmas... START NOW!

Ohh!! I like that cross-stitching idea! I'd probably bleed to death though from stabbing myself my accident w/the needle!
Idea: Have any of you ever seen a Varsity jacket (remember, those jackets in high school w/your varsity letters and etc) for maybe GLO's? He hated his high school..so..I'm thinking maybe having a jacket made w/the colors and his letters w/his other information on it??? Comments?? I have less than a month!!!! EEK!!!

I've given up!! Well, maybe.
Okay, we're going up to Ohio State Uni. tomorrow..so..plenty-o-greek stores to shop in. We're also running up and kidnapping his brother Juan from the TKE house so I was going to steal him and help me shop..
So now, I'm thinking something small of TKE that he won't konw about and then I'm going to buy him a new pair of shoes (yes, he's in great need of them!!) All this will -hopefully- be under 100 bucks. Oh, the TKE varsity jacket is more than likely a go, but since that will take a while for it to be made (especially through the dealer I would be going through) I may have to wait until christmas.

Do you know for sure that he will wear a "varsity" style jacket? I am sure it is probably quite pricey, and NO boys I know would wear that because they would consider it too "high school" so I would make sure that you think it is his style.
Also, why not get him something personal that doesn't involve TKE? Like something that reminds him of a special place you two have or a special event in your relationship?

Final:
I did it. Finally bought his TKE gift
It's a black fitted hat with TKE in red on the front with his chapter name (Rho Pi) and his scroll number (209) underneath the 'TKE'.
I know, not that inventive, but, since school has started I haven't been able to have more time *sighs*. I should be getting it here in a week (HOPEFULLY!!), by the way, if any of you think this is something you'd like, I bought it from www.greekgear.com and it cost aroun $26 bucks w/shipping.
