Bid day gifts
I am trying to put together bid day gifts for our bid day in the spring.
I have about 10-11 dollars to spend on each gift. (This is not including the bid day shirt the girl will recieve) Any good sites or a good combination of gifts. Also, is it better to get lot of little stuff or maybe a large item, like a water bottle with some candy and pen? Any suggestions would be super! |
I suggest getting one larger thing, and maybe filling it with some smaller things. For example, you could give them a Phi Mu cup, filled with candy, some pens/pencils, and maybe a keychain.

I found these both from Carnation Collection. (I am so jealous! I wish SK had a store as awesome as Carnation Collection!)
I liked having an ID holder in college. It's so much easier than digging around in your wallet when you need your student ID for things like getting into the house, paying for meals at the diner, etc. Lots of universities give freshmen ID holders, but these are so cute, plus they're canvas instead of plastic, so they'll hold up to wear and tear. I like the pink one. $5 The lion photo holder can also hold cards. $5. https://carnationcollection.phimu.or...mal/200531.jpghttps://carnationcollection.phimu.or...mal/200616.jpg Black canvas tote bags like this are really popular at my alma mater (mind you I am very recently graduated). We gave them to our new members last year and they were a big hit! They are the perfect size for carrying your books to class. $10 https://carnationcollection.phimu.or...mal/200508.jpg Also, this ring is drool-worthy but definitely far from the $10 budget. https://carnationcollection.phimu.or...mal/300DRS.jpg |
On our bid day, we got an awesome tote bag with letters (it isn't for sale in the Carnation Collection, but it uses the gingham print they just came out with, so maybe it will be soon), a cup, a pen, the ID holder (and yes, I love it), and our shirts. The only thing I really would have wanted but didn't get was a keychain, but I got that for myself a few weeks later. Since that came from nationals, I'm not sure how much it cost, but minus the shirts, it was probably around $10. You could also get some of the pink breast cancer awareness M&Ms to throw in there.

M&Ms
You can always get personalized M&Ms - they make they make a maroon color, as well as a couple of different blues.
You can get things printed on them, such as the pledge class name and bid day date, or just PHI MU. It can get a bit pricey, but if you order 4 bags (minimum order is four, I think), you can put them in cute little baggies. Just a thought... www.mymms.com (the link is really working hard to load, so my memory on these is a tad sketchy) |
