I don't know if other posts were deleted, but in the thread you started in the Chapter Ops board, mine is the only reply. I apologize if you felt my tone was out of line, but in re-reading it, I don't feel that the average person would construe it as harsh or mean-spirited. Regardless, I do regret if anything I posted in regard to your question caused you any distress.
I strongly advise you, as a student leader, to take anything you receive from an Internet "resource"-- be it Greek Chat, Wikipedia, or any self-published message board-- with a grain of salt. GC is a great place to get ideas. But-- If you ever have any questions regarding sorority programs specific to your organization, you really should first check with your sorority manuals, then your adviser, then any regional program-specific alumnae directors.
Best of luck to you and your chapter!
GC gets many of the same kinds of questions over and over again, which tends to produce snark from long-time posters. Use the ignore feature if you don't like someone's tone, and you can navigate the site without running into those characters. You're going to run into this on any Internet message board, and GC does a fairly good job at moderating the worst of it. You won't find that elsewhere, where personal attacks and obscene language are the norm in many chat rooms and online boards.
