Well, you know DG's badge and symbol is an anchor, so the nautical theme kind of lends itself. And "Pat," the SNL character, was created and played by Julia Sweeney, who is a Delta Gamma.

Oh yeah, it makes sense to have a nautical theme, and that it just didn't speak to me shows how much I'm not a DG But I didn't know that Julia Sweeney's a DG! And I just didn't get the joke.

Hey, it's OK! I always like to compare the reason there are different sororities to the same reason there are different churches~!

I didn't mean for it to sound bitchy or mean when I asked about the theme. The whole nautical thing made sense once I knew that their symbol was an anchor but when we went through recruitment, we didn't know that because the pamphlet we were given on each chapter just gave name, founding date, founding date at Long Beach, a picture of the house, the name of the President, and their philanthropy. I didn't get the nautical thing until later.

You know...AST's symbol is an anchor, too, and we don't really do the nautical thing. So maybe it's got nothing to do with that.
