There have been hazing accidents since the begining of greek organizations. The way you find out hazing has occured is when you see it on the news or the paper. If nothing deadly,or harmful, happens you don't hear about it. It is all relative to the person it has nothing to do with the organization. A organization can stand right on the yard and scream as loud as possible WE HAZE but if the person wants it bad enough they will do it anyway. If they let themselves get hazed and even though on both side it's wrong,they can't haze you if you don't let them. It was not a right or wrong answer to this thread every one has their own beliefs and opinions I just wanted to get some greeks input. I respected every one on here when I started and still respect everyone. If you have the ability to compromise that is a sign of noblity. I would love to live in a world where you are not based on how far are you willing to go but how much are you willing to give back, and find your true purpose in life. Years from now you can say I made this happen I made a change. If no one is willing to change underground hazing their is nothing else we can do other than hope it doesn't happen but hope doesn't work when someone is dead. I want to join a organization to give back to my community because they are in desperate need of change. You may be asking how will you change it? Getting new after school programs picking up trash and encourage every one else to do the same. Visit hospice homes to give comfort and need to those who need it. Teaching children that there is more to life than money, cars, and clothes. Teaching them how to function in the world on their own; because nothing is given to you in this world you have to earn your keep here. Your name is the first thing someone remembers about you and the last thing they remember when you die. I don't want anyone to remember how I died I want people to remember how I lived. I want to give back to my organization leadership,and the willingness to learn to follow and also honesty. Ahem... here goes:

4. Orgs can say they don't haze, but because they're secret, non-members don't know for sure.
5. Severe hazing incidents still occur; you hear about them in the news. It is likely less severe hazing incidents occur and you just don't hear about them.
6. The blame for hazing lies with the person, not the organization.
7. The hazee also takes some responsibility for letting his or her self get hazed.
8. I wasn't looking for a right or wrong answer -then why the title- in this thread, just opinions from actual Greeks.
