If you're a member of XYZ but attending an event of your daughter's ABC sorority where pin attire is appropriate I think it'd be an excellent way to show your pride in your group and in her group. Some of those pins really make want a ton of daughters in different groups.

We have had many members whose mother's were members of other NPC groups. Those mothers will wear the AOII mother's pin while they help with recruitment or just come to Parents' Weekend events. I know of one member whose mother is a Phi Mu and her mom wears her AOII mother's pin all of the time! I think it's very sweet!

The very pretty Pi Phi mother's pin is on page 2 of the PBP official jewelry catalogue.

So would your mother only wear the mother's pin if she was a member of a NPC GLO? I don't think Theta has a mother's pin anyway, I was just wondering.

I don't think so, any mother can wear them. It's supposed to be worn with respect, and NPC members will get that, but non-members aren't necessarily clueless. I could see there being parents you wouldn't want to give one to, and ones who wouldn't wear it anyway, but any mother could.

Are there any special rules for the mothers' pins? I seem to recall hearing something about the Tri-Psi pins being for people who join a "mother's group" or something like that...can any DG or DG alum give this as a gift for their mom or are there strings attached?

My mom's joining Tri Psi this fall It's actually a seperate "mothers of Tri Deltas" organization, not just a mother's pin, so it has it's own rules. I don't know of any other restrictions to giving your mother a mother's pin.

I'm scratching my head at the Pi Phi mother's pin. My understanding is it's a national rule that their NMs can't wear PBF though they can wear PF. Why would the rule be different for a mom???

Well, it would appear that at least Pi Phi and Zeta do...how many badges would that be if every Greek in your family were to give you one?!
The Alpha Gam and the KD mom's badges are BEAUTIFUL.

For this, I agree with you. I like my Torch simple without guards or dangles.
Some of these mother pins are pretty. And no, SDT doesn't have one as far as I know.

I love the Gamma Phi Mom's pin! Especially because the pink carnation is a symbol of Mother's Day, and the eternal love between mother and child.
It also comes as a charm that can be worn on a charm bracelet.

Alpha Phi has one that's a circle of ivy leaves. I'd post a picture but I don't know how.
