No no no, I think V cut out Lily's eyes and shoved them into Harry's head (magically of course).

If that's the case, he should've been renamed Larry....and his eyes should swivel around and be removable like Moody.

Tee hee

There has to be SOME reason why we can't go a hundred pages without an Order member commenting on how Harry has Lily's eyes. (I'm exaggerating but not by much)

So, a bookstore employee was explaining her theory to a customer... that JamesPotter is Snape. Somehow Snape was there when Harry was killed and Snape now "contains" James in some way or another. I thought it was a long stretch to explain why Dumbledore has always trusted him.

And I think Harry is, at this point, going to have to face things more or less on his own. Ron and Hermioned will certainly be prominent and help him. But the adults he has trusted have been removed from him. Neither Dumbledore nor Sirius can save him (though I don't think Sirius is quite gone forever... Harry does have that mirror). He and his friends will have to fight as the "next generation" of the Order as it were. In my mind, the big question is, will he have to face Voldemort alone? It's traditional in a hero-villian stand off. And it fits the character arc of Harry. However, if the key difference between V and Harry is that Harry's friends will fight for him because they care (even love) him, they may play the pivotal role in the "last battle" so to speak and they may be the difference between Harry living or dying.

On another random thought, I wonder what would have happened if, on that first meeting with Draco, Harry had accepted that handshake and chosen his friends more "wisely." Perhaps he would have ended up in Slytherin after all?

It's quite intriguing an idea.

Nah, Sirius is gone forever. The mirror didn't work.
Did anyone else have a minor freakout that Helena Bonham Carter is playing Bellatrix? SO. AWESOME.
This movie looks like it will stay pretty true to the book so I'm excited.

1. If James is Snape, why would he hate him so much? He's only done right by Harry once (saving him from Quirrel's jinx) and that was purely so that, by doing that good deed, he could go one hating James' memory with peace of mind.

2. I don't think Sirius is gone forever (though I think JKR may have said he is), but Harry doesn't have the mirror. If I'm not mistaken, didn't he smash it when it didn't work?

3. This is true, but I think he will face Voldy on his own. It's in the prophecy that one must kill the other (according to Dumbledore). Says nothing about friends. Though it'd be a good thought that the 3 would band together against Voldemort, it'd be a better cinematic move to have Harry do it alone.

1.I agree, James in Snape (or whatever) is waaaaay out there.

2. I forgot that he smashed the mirror. It's definately time to reread the books. I think JKR forgot that Sirirus gave it to Harry and had to write the mirror back out of the book. It is however unclear what exactly the veil is or does so there is some vague hope (except for the fact that Harry is losing adult aid, not getting more).

3.I'm still torn. While I agree, it's a classic hero move that Harry will have to face Voldemort alone, I'm just not sure we can count out the DA as well as Hermione and Ron. But I don't think the prophecy says that Harry must kill Voldemort. Just that neither can live while the other survives.

What about Neville. I think he's going to play a greater role. We know he's found his skills in herbology, but I can't help but think that he'll make an even better showing of himself than he did in the DA. It's almost required since his parents suffered so horribly.

Bleh

To be fair.. Harry doesn't HAVE to kill Voldemort. Voldemort could just kill Harry. Sorry the "neither can live" part is the only one that sticks in my head.
