4th grade: I turned to the girl next to me to borrow a pencil, and we both misjudged so that instead of handing it to me the very shart point went into the back of my hand. She was so upset - she couldn't stop apologizing. I had to get a tetanus shot. You can still faintly see the scar on my hand where the pencil went in.

And I know I'm not the only one who slipped on the jungle gym & ended up straddling one of the rungs. Holy @#$%@# @#^%$@^$%@ did that hurt.

I didn't do that, but we had three low bars (maybe 3 1/2' high) in a row and I would sit on one of the outer ones, facing in and then hook my feet under the middle one and flip over backwards. Well, at my new school in 5th grade, the middle bar was loose and came right off. I ended up in a heap on the ground. Great first impression.

I still have a pencil point in my hand from something like that... you can see it and everything- it had healed over and i asked a doctor about it and he said it wouldn't do anything to me... so its still in there... lol

When I was 7, my dad and I went to the lake. The lake had a boat dock thing that went out into the water. The lake also had alot of ducks and big white geese.

So I went out onto the boat dock, without my dad (I think he was turning meat on the grill), to feed the ducks. I threw some breadcrumbs out onto the water for the ducks.

Well, the geese apparently wanted some bread too because at least 10 big white geese (who were taller than 5 yr old me) swooped down and started HONKING and attacking me trying to get the food out of my hand.

They were blocking my way so I couldn't get off the dock, so I went the opposite direction, towards the water. I screamed "DADDDDYYYY!" He came running to try to get me, but by then I was on the edge of this boat dock surrounded by big scary birds.

Well, when my dad ran out to try to scare the birds away, he scared them so bad that they ran TOWARDS me, knocking me off into the water which pretty deep (deep enough to sail in). I couldn't swim at all so I was frantic.

My dad jumped in and got me out of the water, as I was screaming "Help! I'm drowning! I'm gonna get eaten by a shark (which is funny because I really thought that)!"

I got yelled at when I got home because he apparently never told me I could go out there and feed ducks. He even cried because he was thinking of what could've happened if he hadn't been able to get to me. But after I got yelled at, he took me to Dairy Queen, so it was alright.

I stuck (Unpopped) popcorn up my nose and in my ears. I did such a good job my parents couldn't get it out of my ears and had to take me to the hosiptal where they had to get it out by pumping water into my ears. I was like 4, so I dont' remember.. but my parents love to tell the story.

Very similar story here, up to this point. I was 2 1/2 and feeding the geese themselves and when I ran out of bread, they still wanted more so they were trying to get into my pockets where the crumbs were. My dad rescued me, but thankfully I didn't end up in the water. I have no memory of this, but my mom loves to tell the story and I really don't like being around birds.

When my son was 4, he put a pebble in his ear on the playground at preschool and didn't tell anybody. He'd been really really bad that day at school and his teacher was telling me that she thought he hated her because he never listened to her. So, I'm driving to pick up my daughter from her school and I'm yelling at him for not following directions at school and he peeps up and says "I have a rock in my ear". I said "What do you mean you have a rock in your ear???". "Someone put a rock in my ear on the playground". "Who did that to you?" "I don't know" "YOU DON'T KNOW?? SOMEONE PUT A ROCK IN YOUR EAR AND YOU DON"T KNOW WHO???"

I was steaming mad at this point. We get to his sister's school and I look in his ear and can't see anything, so I think he's lying now, to avoid getting yelled at about his behavior at school, but he insists and finally confesses that he did it himself. I get home and get out a flashlight and sure enough, there's a rock in his ear. My husband takes him to ER where they do an x-ray and find that it's resting against his ear drum. We have to keep him sedated for the night so they can do outpatient surgery the next day to remove it. They were afraid to it unless he was knocked out because if he moved, they might puncture his eardrum. After the surgery, they bring us the rock in a biohazard bag! LOL.

None of my injuries are that funny.. My brother was going outside and I ran after him. He slammed the screendoor shut and my arm went through the glass because I was so close behind him. Still have that scar. Another time, he and I were fighting and I went to hit him. He ducked and my hand whacked the corner of the wall.. broke my hand. The other time, I was running up the stairs to get away from him during a fight and I fell. I landed my weight on my thumb and tore a ligament. That was painful, but having that thumb wrapped up for 10 weeks made me quit thumb sucking.

When I was around 8, I had a swing in the front yard. One day, I was on the swing when the support collapsed. One second I'm swinging away, the next I'm in a heap on the ground. No serious injuries, but my butt was sore for a while.

When I was around 4, I nearly drowned when I slipped out of my pool ring (I didn't know how to swim). Luckily my dad was keeping a very good eye on me.

When I was 14, I sliced my right index finger open and severed part of the tendon. I went to the hospital and wound up with a bunch of stitches, including one in the tendon... removing that stitch HURT. I had to spend several weeks (in July and August, no less) with a splint and a bandage that went halfway to my elbow. I recovered my full range of motion, but I have a nasty scar.
