Bummer! I liked that they aged.

She should just retire. For Better of For Worse was unique in that the characters aged. Even though I haven't read it in years, I still like it for what it was.

I think that it would be difficult to continue aging the family. No one wants to see the parents die, or even grandpa. And how do you follow three families as well as you've followed one?

However I'm not sure that choosing freezing it over ending it is better. Sometimes you should just go out on top (even if I like reading the comics all the time) like Calvin did and Foxtrot has.

That's stupid. If she doesn't want to continue aging them, she should just quit as planned or turn it over to someone else. The whole point of FBOFW is that they DO age and don't just stay still.

I'm sure $$$ has to do with it. Please, Lynn, take a look at the final seasons of Friends, Seinfeld and Roseanne and rethink this decision.

I remember the final episodes of all three of those shows and not fondly!!!!

Big finales are lame. Have a big deal at the last minute Maried...With Children style. They betrayed that show, but it was nice seeing Al give Kelly away in the back yard.

FBoFW....should end with the death of the father, but it won't, because

A: No money and
B: fans don't want it.

Only reason A is acceptable [at least to me]

I also would like to see April graduate from HS, seeing how the parents deal with an empty next, and Michael's children grow. Seeing them age and grow is what made it different from other comics.

As long as Elizabeth gets this dating thing straightened out. No more of this Anthony pining for her, and the cop is looking more and more like a cheating scumbag (my mom and I called this when they kept emphasizing how she was going back EARLY and no one was expecting her so EARLY) Time for her to date mr. helicopter pilot man (Warren?)

I just saw the E! True Hollywood Story about the Married...With Children finale. They made the last episode just in case it was because Fox had not decided whether they were going to cancel it. After they showed the final show is when it was announced that it wasn't coming back. And I agree MWC, Roseanne and Seinfeld should have when out better than that.

FoxTrot has not ended it's run per se, but it now runs in Sunday-only format. If you can get ahold of the 12/27/06-12/30/06 comic strips, they pay homage to the fact that Bill Amend has decided after all these years to cut back and do Sundays only. It's actually quite funny. Caught me by surprise (and saddened me) but I can understand where it gets to be a lot of work and redundant to do daily strips--as fun as they are to read, I can see where it just gets to be too much. Lots of creativity goes into a strip and when you have a daily it's really hard to do it without running out of ideas.
Try gocomics.com; they should have them still.

My son was majorly bummed when he realized that FoxTrot was gone, at least as a daily. I found a FoxTrot calendar for him (discounted since the new year had started, even) so that he can keep reading it.

I'm a bit embarrassed to say that I never read any comics anymore, unless I pull out an old Calvin & Hobbes or Far Side Book. (My son's favorite comic is C&H -- his favorite stuffed animal, which he will sit down and play chess or a board game with, is a stuffed tiger he has had for 6+ years named Hobbes.) Did I grow up? I never meant to!

We got Get Fuzzy as a replacement to Foxtrot. I've always liked the comic but it's not the same as Jason and Paige and Peter running around causing trouble.

I wish my paper would ditch Garfield, Blondie, One Big Happy, Family Circus, Cathy, and probably a few others and add Sherman's Lagoon and Frazz and Rose is Rose and Heart of the City. (And others)
