I guess when you're Princess Margaret, you can do whatever you want.

I bought and read that book a very long time ago. I think, after spending so much time on Greek Chat, I would enjoy re-reading it.

Unfortunately it's out of print.
I had a copy years ago but it was lost years ago in one of our moves.

Believe it or not, there's a new edition: "A Southern Belle Primer or Why Paris Hilton will never be a Kappa Kappa Gamma". The inside is practically word for word, but Paris Hilton just doesn't have the cachet of Princess Margaret!
There should actually be a whole separate thread on wearing white out of season, etc!

There is somewhere. At least one that I remember, probably more.

I'm interested in your story. Would love to hear how Recruitment has changed since I went through Rush at your school back in the days when the school was much smaller and there were still dinosaurs walking around on earth.

Re rush stories: it's one thing for alums who are long out of school to say "I LOVE hearing honest opinions!" There was a girl on here who told her rush story and was very honest about her opinion of ASA on her campus and it didn't bother me at all. However, if I was a collegiate member of that sorority at that school, I might feel differently. "I worked my butt off on that skit and she said it was boring? SCREW HER!!" I know we all say we wouldn't do that, but rush is an emotional time.
If you're going to post a rush story and don't want to get found out right away, don't say where you are rushing and don't post the real names of the groups. If you read old ones the PNMs are much more open. That was before bad crap started to happen.
Re white, I've heard the "below the waist" rule also - no skirts or pants. LOL at white jeans. They keep trying to bring them back and what did I see the other day? A 75% off rack full of them. Unless you're stick thin or a small child, you do not need white jeans. Bleached out jeans yes, white ones no. Guys used to look semi cute in them, but they just aren't kind to females.

Caligirl, I know you've made your mind up, but you shouldn't just leave for no reason.
Here's the thing: I go to a big northern school and because greek life isn't big up here, I figured, eh, there will be NO ONE on the board who goes there. I was tempted to just out and out use the real names because I was going through informal recruitment and saw two sororities.
Well I absolutely fell in love with one and got shut down. I wound up COBing with the other after the shut down (the initial events hadn't impressed me) and I got a bid straightaway. You know who posts on this board? My big sister. I had no clue and now I am so glad I was subtle about my comments.
You should post. Yes, we know where you are. Yes we know you're a double legacy. But I'm sure you've seen the other recruitment story threads and you know exactly what you should and shouldn't write. Discretion is important but you know that. Don't leave. Don't be scared off. These threads are wonderful to read.

If you do still want to have a rush thread, you could wait til AFTER recruitment to post your story. There are a few girls who choose to do that.

I had never thought of it this way. I see these posts as a way to improve and fix issues... even if you always make quota... seeing what people think about things helps... but I thought of this from an alumnae not from the collegiates side. This is a very good point.
I always thought of writing a post with misleading details (add an extra chapter or change the groups you do list). This would throw all of us overzealous people off the track.

CaliforniaGirl7,
I'm sorry that your thread got off to an awkward start; however, I am hoping that your recruitment itself will have an outstanding ending. Good luck and have a great time!

Sure hope Californiagirl comes back soon to let us know if she found a home. Recruitment is over. I received word today that KD got 71 new members! Quota was 69. I remember back when I was in school, ceiling was 50.
