Nope, it wouldn't be enough food for me. Even when I was a kid I wasn't eating off the kid's menu.

I haven't ordered off a children's menu since I was, oh, 8 or so.

My main problem with children's menus is that they often consist of hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, and similar drivel - regardless of the restaurant's stated cuisine. A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I were in town looking for a place to eat lunch. We found an Indian restaurant and started reading the menu. Chicken tikka masala, lamb vindaloo, saag paneer, biryani, samosas, dhal, naan, etc. - all kinds of good things. Then my eye fell on the children's menu. All children's meals are served with french fries. You can get chicken nuggets, mozzarella sticks, fish sticks, or just the fries. Uh, what's the point of going to an Indian restaurant just to get fish sticks and fries??

Usually, if I'm not all that hungry, I'll order an appetizer, soup, or salad, or I'll order a main course, eat what I want, and take the rest home.

I often do because the portions are smaller. Some of the regular entrees have portions that are enough for like 4 people

Only at fast food places. In any case, a Happy Meal can be ordered as an adult meal. You just don't get a toy.

What fun is a happy meal without a toy?

Sometimes? I eat from the kids' menu all the time! Some of the dishes offered in eat are tastier and cheaper than the adult versions. And I can finish them off rather than only being able to eat half of the meal.

Dionysus- is this forum Ehell? I'm there too.

If adults can't order them, then who'll order for a four year old? The places just think you're ordering for a kid.

This thread inspired me so much that I ate a kid's hamburger meal today at lunch.

That is true for the most part (gotta love a kid's meal every now and then). It also doesn't hurt if you're a little short on cash flow. The toys are pretty cool perks as well.

Some restaurants have kid meals that can really be considered adult size. For example, a few weeks ago, my daughter and I ate at this restaurant called Dallas BBQ. My daughter ordered chicken fingers and french fries from the kids menu. Those chicken fingers were HUGE and they gave her around 4 or 5 of them. There was no way she was going to eat all of that. I could've ordered that meal for myself and would've been nice and full, lol.

The portions at Dallas BBQ are ridiculous. I went to one with a friend once. We got a half portion of wings. Between the two of us we couldn't even finish it.
