In Delta Zeta, if someone's membership is severed because of failure to meet the financial obligations of the sorority, then the only way to be reinstated as a member in good standing is to make good on the debts owed and then make a formal appeal to National Headquarters. It is up to National to decide if the sorority should allow the person's membership to be reinstated after the debt has been paid in full.
Delta Zeta works with sisters in financial difficulties to help them remain in good standing. We offer scholarships and payment plan opportunities, so there is really no reason for someone to be severed for financial reasons unless the person just flat out doesn't pay their dues for no valid reason.
If that is the case then, personally, I don't care how famous someone is. If they don't meet the obligations that are required by Delta Zeta, then they shouldn't BE a Delta Zeta. I don't feel that celebrities should be given special treatment simply because of their star status. There are a lot of celebrities out there who I wouldn't want as my sisters --- no matter how big their names are.
