^^^ you only have to wait 1 year if you sign a bid card and/or accept a bid and then decline the bid/depledge before initiation. Just rushing doesn't disqualify you from re-rushing as long as you don't accept a bid.

Remember that when you're describing things in print, you have to be literal because people can't read between the lines. More often than not we get "my grades are pretty good" when it's barely a 2.0, but the other can be true. Self-deprication (I may be making up words now) is not a helpful attribute in any recruitment environment, whether rush or employment.
And remember, don't discuss your grades during rush. This is a perfect example that in conversation you might have shot yourself in the foot for no reason whatsoever. They will have your grades, or will be getting them before offering you a bid. If you would happen to be asked, say something along the lines of "I was pretty happy with the outcome of my first semester!" and move on.

Well, they might formally ask, but it would likely be in the form of asking you to fill something out with your name, contact info, GPA, etc. In that case, be honest.

informal 2014
I'm wondering if UIUC will be doing informal in the upcoming spring semester? I heard that they aren't because of the new sorority on campus, but I wanted to see if that was true or not. Thank you!

Call the Greek Life Office and ask. You can ask both if 1) There will be a formal informal (I know this sounds dumb, but there is sometimes a kick-off night if enough chapters are doing it) and 2) If groups will be able to COB independently.

Does anyone know if Phi Sigma Sigma will be doing informal? I know they just colonized but I wonder if they'll need more people if girls drop out. I don't know their quota though...

It was reported that they colonized with 192, which has to be very close to average chapter size. Call the Greek Life Office though. They can answer your questions.
