I think Brad still has intimacy issues which is why he went with Emily, who was clearly not as into him and still holding him at arm's length. First time around, he doesn't pick anybody after both women tell him they love him. Second time around, one woman says he loves him and tells his brothers she would marry him "today" and writes a touching note, pouring her heart out. Despite his constantly saying he can totally be himself with her, he picks the one who keeps him at arms length and questions his commitment. I suspect that if Emily comes around and lets him in fully, he will run scared.
I agree about her hair color. Her bad dye job bothered me the whole season.
