MCR Redux

Hey, guys--my younger daughter gave me an iTunes gift card for Daddy's Day a couple of weeks ago, and I thought it would be a good idea to download the alternative version of MCR that's popped up on various LCA websites.

I've been told that it's by the Chemical Brothers, but I can't seem to locate it anywhere online. The versions I've been able to find are pretty lame-o...

Could some of you guys point me in the direction I need to be heading? If you want a sample, visit the Alpha-Omicron site (www.indiana.edu/~lxa/).

Thanks in ZAX from an occasionally technically-challenged bro,
BF

I think this techno remix is also on the soundtrack for the movie "GO" which was released in 1999. The remix is by Phillip Steir.

Philip Steir did the version for the movie "Go", but I don't think that's the version that Boz is talking about.

The techno remix to Magic Carpet Ride that you're thinking of is by Crystal Method. You can probably download it on Bearshare or some other free service.

See, working at a radio station DOES have its privileges!

Yes, the version on Wendy's is horrible.

I started a thread about that version a few months ago.

They even changed the words to it to make it more "politically correct".

Pretty hard to make a song about being high on drugs "politically correct." It sounds like another case of advertisers not realizing what the heck the song they're using is about.

Ever heard someone play "Born in the USA" at a patriotic event? If they read the lyrics they'd realize how ANTI-patriotic the song is.
