I'd rather talk about Dwayne Wayne.
Dwayne Wayne > (Kanye + Taylor Swift)

Seriously.
Taylor=relevant. Kanye=relevant. For different reasons, different music, and to different people. Neither "made" the other relevant. Let's move on.

Agreed - it's kind of funny to claim that either is irrelevant, and to me shows a pretty stunning lack of knowledge about pop culture. I say that as someone who's not really a fan of either performer.
Also, the VMAs are still being held? News to me...

I never watch MTV anymore, but I watch the VMAs because they always have the best performances of any of the award shows. High on theatrics, energy, choreography and just generally very entertaining. Witness this year's as an example...everyone keeps talking about Kanye, but pretty much every performance kicked @$$.

I just don't use the Wu-Tang Clan as an outlet for enlightened social commentary through hip hop or rap. I find Kanye to be a huge FAIL in that area. I listen to the Wu for entertainment, and they know who they are (RIP ODB) and it isn't to spread messages about blood diamonds or joining Broke Phi Broke. I have a special place in my heart for the Wu, to the point I made a Killa Bee costume and wore it for Halloween two years ago, and we made sure to swarm as a group.
They want to hit someone's balls with a spiked hammer, form like Voltron and the Gza happens to be the head, and they gonna swarm like Killa Beez!

Dunno dude . . . the more technically proficient members of Wu (particularly Ghostface and Raekwon) pretty much exclusively deal with inner-city social issues on some scale. Sure, any more Method Man raps about what it's like to be Method Man, but one of the reasons why Wu is great is the mixture of adroit, intelligent social commentary with great rapping and good production quality.

I set individuals of the group apart, as there's a lot of genius work done by various people as solo acts. As a group they aren't producing albums about Hurricane Katrina, the rise of HIV and AIDS in women, or about renewable energy. It has been what, at least 10 years since they've put out an album? Without ODB it just wouldn't be the same anyway...
The big difference is they aren't attention whores about what they do like Kanye is, plus they dress better.

I'm mad you didn't call me out on my feminist rantings about the lyrics of Taylor Swift songs.
The Killa Bee costume is in my garage, I made a giant Wu-Tang necklace to wear with it. Worst part was my date for the night was dressed as Larry Craig (post bathroom scandal), it was ridiculous walking home. Drunk people were confused by us, and we were handing out candy from a plastic pumpkin.
"Are you a televangelist and the bee from the Simpsons?"
"Phil Donahue and the girl from the Blind Melon video?"

It is against the law in 50 states plus Canada for me to call anyone out on feminist rantings.
Those are awesome costumes. Those people don't know the Wu Tang symbol and that makes them horrible people. LOL

What if Charmaine had been in Taylor Swift's shoes? I don't think she ever would have stopped talking.

Maybe she would have had Mr. Gaines give him a talking to.
OMG now I have the theme song, "Hungry Eyes", and "Through the Wire" stuck in my head. Oh geez - don't ask me how my head hasn't exploded.
