I don't believe in that crap where we ought to value and respect other cultures no matter what. This kind of thing is something no one should turn a blind eye to.

The rape was a crime of animals. Hiding behind the law was an act of pure cowardice.

Someone tell me again why we protected these jackasses from Saddam in '90?

Kevin....In my opinion, I will say this....rape is barbaric...and no one should ever have to go thru that.

But, in light of her testimony and thier laws being what they are, answers some questions that I had all along since my OP

What was she doing out with this man? Why was she so pressed to get the photo back?

Yes, it's sad that this happened but think...if she had done it and got back home safely, no one would be the wiser.

Come on, let's think about this...how many times have we been told by our parents, or if you are a parents had to tell your children about being someplace you are not supposed to be, with someone you know you shouldn't be with, doing something you shouldn't be doing?

Tell me that you haven't been caught doing something you shouldn't have...

There are consequences and repercussions to knowingly disobeying, right?

We call it barbaric but yet and still Massachusetts is in the process of taking more power out of the hands of parents by trying to make it illegal to spank your child...

We may disagree what one does in thier own house either locally and globally but they have thier laws for a reason and so do we.

I do feel for this girl but.............I don't know........

Let's flesh this out ever further.....say she never got raped. Say nothing violent ever happened. But one of her brothers comes along and spotted her in the car. One of her cousins comes along and spotted her in the car. One of her relatives spotted her in the car.

with....a....man....not....related...to....her.

It really sounds like you approve of what's happening to this poor girl. Every time you say something which sounds sympathetic to the girl's case, you follow it up with a "but...".

There's really no "but" to it, IMO. The additional consequences/repercussions she faces are out of line. She has suffered enough. Rape is bad. Gang rape is worse. There's no reason why the government should punish her even more. She's already faced her repercussions... from seven men... twice.

I don't approve...however...that is the law...she broke it......this really is maginified due to the fact that she was raped...otherwise...if it didn't happen...still the initial crime according to thier law had to be settled if she was caught by someone else.
