A little history about sistersoror.

In 1988 or 1989 the D4s sponsored a Black Women Political Action forum in DC. It was decided there to call each other sistersoror. The forums were then replicated in various cities across the country and the term sistersoror continued to be used.

When I first came on GC, I used the term but noticed it wasn't reciprocated. Then I saw folx saying sistergreek, so that is what I now say. I actually prefer it, because I do think that the term soror should be reserved for members of the same sorority.

BTW, at the Klave this summer the heads of the D4 did not refer to each other as soror. Usually they would say greek sister or sistergreek.
