spill the best (accident) stories of your childhood
Ok, so i'm in the mood to laugh... so i figured it would be fun to discuss the ridiculous things we did as kids whether on purpose or accidental. whatever, its just gotta be funny lol
i'll start:
when I was 6, my parents and I flew out to the midwest to visit the fam. At the time, I had ridiculously long hair that I of course refused to let my mom brush. Complete with the stretch pants, high tops, and big bugs bunny shirt, i was a regular white trash walking disaster.. ok..moving on.
so, on the escalator, i decide that I have to have my troll (or whatever stupid toy was hot at the time) in my suitcase, so I bend down trying to get it out of my bag. I'm concentrating so hard on my task, I fail to realize that my hair has gotten stuck in the escalator and is slowly being sucked into the stairs, by this time, my parents got off the escalator and i started screaming my head of.... they had to stop the escalator and cut my hair to free me lol
we still made our plane though. lol
i still have a fear of escalators but its still one of my favorite stories lol

Half-cocked a pellet gun and pulled the trigger.
Needed several stitches.
Otherwise, I wasn't all that accident prone.

I was rolling in a tire and chipped my right front tooth on the ground. It still shows to this day.
I got hit by a bike (10 speed) while playing double-dutch and broke my collar bone.
My daughter shaved her eyebrows.

My mom told me that when I was 17 months old, I walked into the kitchen, where her and her friend were sitting, threw down my toy, and said "Oh shit", and then walked out.

When I was 4, I was admiring all the wigs that my aunt owned but I thought only bald women could wear them so I started cutting my hair. My mom was able to stop me but not until after I had given myself a nice bald patch above my forehead and right ear. I had to wear a hat or scarf to cover up my bad hair-cut.

i managed to break my own nose - gymnastics class, we were being thrown into a foam pit and nobody told me to keep my body rigid. so i got tossed in all loose and floppy and the next thing i know is incredible pain and people asking me if i can open my eyes. broke my nose and had two hellishly awesome black eyes for about a month (like the kind that goes black, blue, purple, green, yellow)

We were on a church trip a few years ago and the beds in the hotel were unusually high. My neice who was around two or so at the time had seen the other kids jump from one bed to another and I guess she wanted to try. She preped herself, ran, jumped, and landed flat on her face beside the other bed. She just wasn't tall enough. She cried the whole rest of the night.

When I was 3 or 4, I wandered away from my mom and found a pair of scissors. She found me in the bathroom with my hair all cut all over the place covered in red stuff. She freaked out, but realized a few minutes later that I was actually covered in lipstick.
When I was like 3, I also stuck my mom's keys in to an electrical socket. out of all of the keys, i happened to grab the car key that had the black plastic/rubber on it. I blew all the fuses in the house and was thrown back against the opposite wall with my hair standing straight up...
Also, my first words were HELP me! I got stuck hanging from my moms desk when the rollie chair i was standing on rolled away from me

my sister, when she was younger, cut all of her hair in the back so her naps wouldnt grow back.
though subconsciously disturbing, true story - guess it seemed like a good idea at the time.

When I was about 4 or 5 I was standing in the upstairs entryway at our house. To the left is the hallway down to the bedrooms and bathroom. But the entryway is wider than the hallway, so there's two feet of wall, then hallway. I turned and ran face first into the wall. Apparently I wasn't looking
Also when I was slightly older I ran head on into the sliding glass door. In my defense it was night and I could have sworn it was open.

I don't remember this one but my mom & sisters still talk about it. When I was 2, I somehow got my head jammed in through the staircase banister at my aunts house. To their dismay, I got my head wedged in but they couldn't get it out. My uncle had to dismantle part of the banister to get me out. Apparently, I laughed the entire time this was happening.
When I was 6, I was throwing rocks on the playground. I apparently had really good aim b/c I nailed a little boy in my class right in the eye. I got yelled at by the principal, teacher, recess monitors, my mom, my sisters, and the boys mom. Luckily I didn't blind him but he did have to wear an eye-patch for a month b/c one of the rocks had scratched his eye on the inside. Sadly, I didn't learn my lesson b/c I then referred to him as a pirate and kept throwing rocks on the playground.
I got stuck in an avocado tree when I was 5 and ended up dangling with my bare legs and shorts sticking out of the branches. It took an hour before my mom finally heard my screams. Still, it was fun to be hauled out of the tree by the fire department.
I was a terror as a child. My poor mom.

I can't possibly be the only one who has had this experience: When I was about four and just learning how to toss a baton properly, I got "blinded" by the sun, and the ball (bigger end) of the baton landed right in my eye socket.
I felt really bad for my brother, because everyone thought he had punched me in the eye (I had a real shiner!), and he was so much older than I!

4th grade: I turned to the girl next to me to borrow a pencil, and we both misjudged so that instead of handing it to me the very shart point went into the back of my hand. She was so upset - she couldn't stop apologizing. I had to get a tetanus shot. You can still faintly see the scar on my hand where the pencil went in.
And I know I'm not the only one who slipped on the jungle gym & ended up straddling one of the rungs. Holy @#$%@# @#^%$@^$%@ did that hurt.

I didn't do that, but we had three low bars (maybe 3 1/2' high) in a row and I would sit on one of the outer ones, facing in and then hook my feet under the middle one and flip over backwards. Well, at my new school in 5th grade, the middle bar was loose and came right off. I ended up in a heap on the ground. Great first impression.
